As a veterinary social worker, I understand the unique bond between humans and animals and offer counseling services to address the specific needs of veterinary professionals, service dog handlers (including working dogs), and pet owners. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their feelings and develop coping strategies.

Animal Assisted Interventions

Animal-assisted interventions have been shown to provide numerous benefits in various services, including healthcare, education, and therapy. They can be a powerful tool for improving both mental and physical health.  These interventions involve the use of trained animals to help individuals improve their physical, emotional, and social well-being. I am dedicated to providing high-quality interventions that are tailored to the unique of each individual.

Compassion Fatigue
Compassion fatigue is a common issue among veterinary professionals, who often experience high levels of stress and emotional exhaustion due to the nature of their work. If you think you're experiencing compassion fatigue, it's important and ethically sound to seek help and support. I provide support, empowerment, and guided & self-directed interventions to facilitate an increased quality of professional and personal life.   Additionally, I provide compassion fatigue support for all manner of helping professionals.

Grief Counseling
Dealing with the loss of a beloved pet or companion animal can be an incredibly difficult experience. I offer grief counseling to help individuals navigate the complex emotions associated with pet and companion animal loss. Through compassionate support and specialized techniques, I assist clients in processing their grief and finding ways to honor and remember their animal companions.

Advanced practice social work requires a high level of expertise and dedication. All social workers workers with individuals, families, and communities to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals; however, my education and experience allow to provide specialized services

Meeting
Supervision
Social workers require various levels of licensure to legally and ethically practice.  Social workers wishing to practice at an individual level must first practice under the supervision of a specially-trained supervisor. I am currently licensed in MS to provide these services. Supervision is provided in individual and group formats
 

Individual Supervision

LMSW or other non-independent: $75 per hour

LCSW or other independent: $100 per hour 

Group Supervision (Groups may be 2 hours)

LMSW or other non-independent: $50 per hour

LCSW or other independent: $75 per hour

Education
I provide education in many forms, including as an instructor at multiple universities, through informal and formal presentations for audiences ranging from local high schools to national industry conventions, by participating in interviews, and by providing consulting services.  I also regularly take part in interdisciplinary collaborations.

Student Support
Completing any level of higher education is a wonderful milestone, but getting there can be a daunting task.  I provide support and empowerment to students completing graduate or doctoral capstone projects.  My services include basic editing and interventions for re-centering and de-escalating.
